I was wondering how this thing actually worked, but for the cost I figured I'd give it a try. Looking at it on Amazon, I guessed that their would be some sort of O-ring seal inside the unit. Turns out that it's supplied with a little piece of foam, roughly 1/8" thick, and slotted to look like an outlet in your house. You simply place this foam over the male side of the device plug as you connect the cords, then twist the plastic cover unit over the connection to seal it. So yes, it is "water tight" to a degree, but I certainly wouldn't use it in any location where the connection may become submerged. Works great for keeping my power tool cords out of wet grass and deep snow. Same for the shop vac and buffer after washing my truck too. Would probably keep out all but the heaviest rains if used for a bug light, etc, as long as the connection wasn't sitting on the ground. Overall, it does what I need it to do.

This is the best product on the market. I just came accross it when I was looking on the Amazon Website. I look for something like that several years ago but every store I went to didn't seem to know what I was talking about so I made some out of soapboxes for the time being. I have several fountains in my back yard and as you can imagine I have several electric cord connected together. Anyway I ordered 5 of these connectors and removed all my makeshift soap box and I'm thrilled with these. Best money I have ever spend. You will be pleased too.

This was not exactly what I was expecting. I thought the unit itself would be watertight, but no. I guess the gasket between the cords is what does the trick? Regardless, it's probably better than the plastic bag and twist tie I had been using. It's a keeper.

I'm afraid I've developed an unhealthy relationship with this garlic press. It's so shiny, and has such lovely heft. Most important, it presses garlic with an incredibly smooth and powerful action. I've started to add way more garlic than normal, just so I can keep using the press.

Post-press, you simply flip over the handle and the nonstick pokey side pushes the garlic remains cleanly out. I usually gather those remains and smush them all back in for a final press. I just can't get enough...

When I'm finished, I just lay it flat in the top section of the dishwasher. It comes out perfectly clean and shiny each time.

You'll love it. Trust me.

I LOVE this garlic press! I bought it based on the reviews here and I am so glad that I did. I had previously purchased a Kuhn Rikon and it was near impossible for me to smash a clove of garlic; I had to ask my boyfriend to help. I also had a no name one that wasn't bad, but I thought maybe I was missing something when people raved about having a garlic press. I have a hard time mincing garlic with a knife, so I thought I would give this one a try even though the Zyliss had higher ratings on America's Test Kitchen. It really is very sturdy and since it has such a wide opening you can smash 2-3 cloves at a time. You barely have to exert much pressure and it cleans up pretty easily. I will probably have this one the rest of my life because it is so well made. I am very thrilled with this purchase!

This is the best garlic press I have ever seen for any price, ever. Fresh garlic makes such a huge difference. I've gone through about five different presses, and all of them had something I didn't like... except this one!

The cleaner is attached so that it won't get lost. This thing is built like a tank.

I never peel my garlic first. I just toss it in, give it a squeeze, then rotate the handle around to pull out the peel. Rinse it right when you use it, and you'll never have to run it through the dishwasher.

I bought this about a year ago when I lost my previous press. My mother-in-law (who has carpel tunnel syndrome) used it, fell in love with it, and bought her own. Now, I'm buying one as a gift for a friend that thinks cooking with fresh garlic is a pain - he's in for a surprise.

This is hands down the easiest to clean, toughest, and best built garlic press on the market. Way to go OXO!

I was looking for a good basic timer and this fit the bill. It allows you to count up or down and shows time elapsed after the alarm rings (to see how much I screwed up the cookies).

One feature I was looking for but wasn't apparent from the descriptions or photos is how the back is set up. I use the magnet, not the easel and attach it to the stove hood. With some timers the magnet is on the easel and the easel comes out from the back of the timer. Then when you push the timer buttons, it rocks back and forth on the easel, and usually falls into the soup. However, this timer has has the easel flush with the back of the timer. When attached to the hood, it does not rock back and forth when pushing the buttons. Big plus in my book. Sometimes it is just the small details.

I bought this timer, because my husband wanted one similar to the one his mom had, with the big display and the simple, three-button operation. This particular timer was better priced than most I looked at, and I liked the extra large display. I have been very happy with it. The buttons don't stick like other timers I have used. I like the way the memory feature works, and the bonus feature that it can count up is also nice.

We liked this timer. Its display and buttons were great. Its sound was pleasant. Unfortunately, the screen died when splashed with some water. Keep it dry.
